Job Role: Westfield Boutique Manager/ Assistant Visual Merchandiser
What does you current job involve?
As Westfield Boutique Manager it is my job to ensure excellent customer service and the smooth running of the store. I am obsessed with keeping the rails and table displays looking fresh and seem to be tweaking them daily - only to get carried away and change it, so our regular customers can see several outfit choices and trends in a fortnight! My job roles go hand in hand and I am lucky to have such a positive, motivated team around me.
What are your biggest achievements?
Within a year of working at Donna Ida I had secured a role as Assistant Visual Merchandiser and Westfield Assistant Manager. I am now the Westfield Manager and leading a team is a huge achievement for me.
Graduating with a Degree in Fashion Design with my first collection will always be a proud moment.
When/what was your big break?
Finishing with a Fashion Design Degree opened up a lot of opportunities to me. I have worked with fantastic designers and stylists and have made great friends and contacts along the way.
Every promotion through recognition at Donna Ida has felt like another step in the right direction and I’m very proud of the direction I am headed.
What is the best part of the job?
I love being creative with store layout and visual merchandising. Having worked at our Westfield London boutique for over a year I know our customers well and always have fun helping them find outfits for every occasion.
What is your past experience?
After finishing University and prior to working at Donna Ida I have worked as a Wardrobe Assistant working on TV commercials and as Set Assistant for several magazine photoshoots. I’m lucky enough to have interned at House of Holland and worked backstage at their LFW show.
What are your everyday essentials?
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle an Equipment Blouse and any Current/Elliott jean with a print!
What is your best industry advice?
It’s a tough industry so don’t take any rejection to heart.
Work hard and always listen to your Manager/Team Leader - listen and learn!
