Donna Ida Summer of Sport for Jeans for Genes – 5k in Richmond Park

The Donna Ida Summer of Sport has started! Last weekend we took to Richmond Park to run 5k to raise money for Jeans for Genes.

Donna Ida Thornton is taking part in a run, a trek and a bike ride this year to raise £30,000 for children with genetic disorders. Here she is on race day with her husband Bobby Dazzler and Chihuahuas Romeo and Julio.

Our team leader for the event was Ruth Field, author of the brilliant and super funny book ‘Run Fat Bitch Run’ pictured above.

We were joined by over 30 fabulous runners who were all kitted out in Donna Ida Tees.

Our T Shirts were donated by Sweaty Betty and were printed by Simeon Farrar with a cheeky slogan on the back!

Tom Pearson and Farley Blackman.

Mother and daughter teams - Alaina Desantis and swimwear designer Melissa Odabash, Practical Princess author Elika Gibbs with Maisie, and PR & Marketing Manager Claire Etchell and her mum Linda

Melissa Odabash celebrated her birthday on the day of the race and a big thank you to Marks & Spencers who provided a gorgeous picnic at the finishing line.

At the finish line with Ruth Field, Donna Ida Thornton, Dakota and Adela King and Melissa Odabash.

We’ve already raised over £3,000 but we are aiming to raise £30,000 so please visit http://www.justgiving.com/DonnaIda2012 and donate what you can.

The Summer of Sport continues with the Trek (Lewes to Eastbourne ) on Saturday 21st July and Cycle  (London to Brighton) on Saturday 25th August.
