Hayley Newstead from Absolute Flowers and Home Style Insider

Earlier this month I caught up with my good friend Hayley Newstead at her stunning store in Notting Hill.

Absolute Flowers and Home is a treasure trove of interior delights and beautiful flowers on Portobello Road. We caught up with Hayley on the best flowers for Spring, her favourite denim and how to update your home for Spring.

Thanks to florist Ruiko for demonstrating the perfect bunch wearing our Donna Ida Sadie Jumpsuit.

DONNA IDA: What are your wardrobe essentials and how do you wear your jeans?

Hayley: I like a structured coat, jacket or blazer with a pair of Donna Ida jeans. I love leopard, always, in any form whatsoever! Finally, lots of jumpsuits. My essential colours are cream, black and beige. I prefer to cover my bum in jeans slightly unless they are baggy jeans, a dungaree or jumpsuit.
DONNA IDA: Which are your favourite jeans from our shoot and why?

Hayley: The Angie Jumpsuit - the fit is so flattering and it’s insanely comfortable.

DONNA IDA: Why do you think jeans are such an iconic item?

Hayley: Jeans are sturdy, unisex and flattering. You can dress them up or dress them down and they stand the test of time

DONNA IDA: Who is your denim icon?

Hayley: Donna Ida obvs.

DONNA IDA: What are your top recommendations for flowers for Mother’s Day?

Hayley: All spring flowers.
Daffodils and narcissi are inexpensive and joyful. I always associate them with gifts so it’s nice for kids and mums alike to give and receive. It also signifies the change of season and brings sunshine into your home

DONNA IDA: Which plants and interiors do you recommend for a Spring refresh?

Hayley: For Plants I love anything tropical like strelizia and most of the ficus family.
You can always refresh a home with new cushions, it’s an inexpensive way to add a new touch. The high street is doing a really great job of emulating many styles and design trends so it’s easy to revamp on a budget.
