As part of our 5th Birthday celebrations we asked all of our Donna Ida girls to tell us about their favourite birthdays. Here is Donna Ida's PR and Marketing Manager, Claire's…
This year I turned 30 on Valentine’s Day and decided to have not one, not two, but three celebrations (one for each decade hey?)!
The first leg was in Paris with my London girls…we hopped on the Eurostar and spent two days convincing ourselves that champagne was reasonably priced, pretending we were in Sex and the City eating macaroons from Ladurée and just about managing to spot the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower! As it was winter, it was super cold, so I wore my fur coat and accessorised with my amazing Chanel necklace and red Chanel lipstick….tres chic!
The second part was a night out in York with all my friends from my hometown and university which involved Betty’s Tea Room and a surprise yummy chocolate cake…and funnily enough even more champagne! This time I wore my favourite black studded tutu dress from Topshop and we literally danced the night away (wishing we were all 21 again!).
The final celebrations were with my family…we went to our local restaurant and then set off Chinese lanterns in my back garden and we wished for health and happiness….ahhh. My mum also managed to convince my dad that she HAD to take me to New York for my birthday (I think she secretly wanted to visit the Manolo Blahnik store), so the next week we had an amazing four days shopping and sightseeing…we even did a little star spotting and caught a glimpse of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick in Greenwich Village! I packed gorgeous dresses and high heels to wear, but ended up in my Citizens of Humanity Avedon Slicks most of the time…it really isn’t as glam as Gossip Girl!
I LOVED this birthday, not just because of all the amazing places, but all the special people who helped me celebrate it.
